Average Disc Injury Verdicts and Settlements
JVR has done a national analysis of jury awards for spinal nerve with disc damage for the years 2004 through 2010.
One thing the study underscores is what every plaintiffs' lawyer has figured out by osmosis if nothing else: age matters. Young people generally recover much better than older people like me. Shoot.
The overall median award to plaintiffs age 18 and under was $43,997 while the median award to plaintiffs between the ages of 19 and 29 was $67,612. Plaintiffs between the ages of 40 and 59 who suffered spinal nerve with disc damage received a median award of $103,723 and plaintiffs age 60 and older received a median award of $100,000.
The interesting thing about the age numbers is that at some point you see they begin to turn again as juries increasingly begin to blame age for the injuries. I bet if you took this up to 70 and 80 you would see the numbers continue to drop.
Anyway, these are the numbers:

These numbers bounce around a bit but we have not noticed any real changes in values over the last ten years here in Maryland. I think the range here is probably statistically insignificant.

He wrote ..diagnosis cervical/ .dorsal./lumbar sprair/strain on my patient status letter to no_faut insurance.re-evaluation in 4weeks..ok now i been send to m-r-i by my family doctor..and fines i was diagnosis with broad cervical posterocentral herniation disc of c3 -c4 /in with c4-c5-c6-c7 annulars bulges/with lumbosacral spine broad posteriorherniation disc at the l5-s1with annular bulges at l3- l4 -l5 with annular bulges at t-12 l1 anterior ..normal anatomic variation or chronic wedge fracture..the thoracic t1 t2 scoliosis .which may be related to muscle spasm/pain/and a torn muscle torn tendon of a left shoulder with a upper left scapula fracture and osteorthritis/spondylolisthesis ...so what i said this what when i got struck on my bicycle from car..now i been sent to a orthorpedic solution by my lawyer doctor ..who omly trying to take care of my neck and left shoulder with sterol shot..now after my three ime examines the last one just toss my neck stiff..try to left my left arm weak / numbness ..hips pain ..back/ neck / shoulder/bad headaches /urines every 20 minuts/ now my orthopedic tell me no-fault denied my surgery my phsical therapy /chiropractice /messages/and my family doctors/ they only going let me stay with orthopedic solution and regular doctors hospital/and behind this..the hospital miss -dianosis on me -and the chiropractice_the m-r-i caught what they missed? Trauma knockout? Sent by abulance ..name tags john doe..sent home afternoon...to make this blank clear i dont trust who handling me even my atorney acting shady..i need help..i need justice ..i need honesty..i not geting either..my bennefits is being very short than probaly cut me off because my lawyer dont care..emergency who can help me in the state of newyork..anywere i dont care..i in lost of pain and medicare help plan suck..sos
