First Party Bad Faith in Maryland

Posted On: March 26, 2007 by Ronald V. Miller, Jr.

I've been writing a good bit over the last few weeks about first party bad faith. Last week, a first party bad faith bill was passed by the Maryland Senate and is now being considered by the Maryland House of Delegates. There is a good article in the New York Times today that underscores why first party bad faith is such a necessity for a fair insurance system.

Ron,

Thanks for the update. If that bill passes, I may come back to insurance work -- this time for policyholders.

A new Hollywood documentary titled "BAD FAITH" will be showing at the Laemmle theater in Pasadena, California on August 24, 2007. The Emmy award winning producer is focusing on the "Bad Faith" aspects of injury and disability claims. Several large disability insurance companies have been trying to prevent the film from being shown. The film has a website with details and video clips at www.badfaithdoc.com

Contact your local theater about this amazing documentary. Industry Insiders provided informnation showing the inner workings of how legitimate claims are denied, delayed, and minimized as a policy.
