Zyprexa Side Effects

The New York Times reports that according to several internal documents, Eli Lily has been covering up its schizophrenia drug Zyprexa's link to obesity and its tendency to raise blood sugar. About 30 percent of people taking the schizophrenia drug gained 30 pounds or more within the first year. In addition, Zyprexa is more likely to cause diabetes than any other drug of its kind.

Stating the obvious, schizophrenia is an awful condition but many people live happy and productive lives by sticking to their pharmaceutical regimen.

Naturally, I do not think many personal injury lawyers are going to flock to take these cases because the plaintiffs are not ideal and the injuries allegedly caused would be difficult to prove with respect to causation. In situations like this where personal injury lawyers will not step in to investigate Eli Lily's alleged wrongdoing, the FDA needs to stand up and take its role as watchdog seriously. History has shown us they have not done so effectively.

Merry Christmas to all!

Zyprexa was promoted indiscriminately {Viva Zyprexa} with much glamour as an 'anti-psychotic' panacea cure-all for patients with psychological trauma and other issues. There is only a narrow range of patients with schizophrenia accompanied by delusional hallucinations or for agitated manic patients who are FDA approved for good reason.

All zyprexa does for the rest of us patients is make you unproductive and sleep a lot.As a matter of record zyprexa is widely used as a sleeping pill for people with NO psychiatric problems.

The drug was 'tainted' in that warnings about dangerous side effects were withheld. It was Eli Lilly that manufactured, promoted and exaggerated the efficacy of it's defective zyprexa product.

Lilly set up a $700 million zyprexa settlement injury fund way back, has given over $100 million of that to their lawyer buds and stonewalled true victims like myself.I paid for the zyprexa out of my own pocket it didn't work as they promised and gave me diabetes now I want my money back.
