Mercury Dental Fillings

The risk associated with silver dental fillings made with mercury that plug cavities in the teeth of millions of Americans will be evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration again this week in light of persistent reports of health risks associated with mercury in general and specifically with silver dental fillings. The FDA will ask an outside panel of experts if it believes there is cause for further concern. I have complained in the past about the objectivity of these advisory boards when it comes to pharmaceutical drugs. With this issue related to mercury, however, I suspect they have found an unbiased group of experts.

At certain levels, mercury is toxic to the brain and kidneys. The conventional wisdom has been that the mercury vapors emitted from fillings are too low to cause injury. But conventional wisdom in medicine changes over time and the issues related to mercury are gaining attention from Maryland personal injury lawyers who are increasingly hearing reports from prospective clients complaining of injury as the result of the use of mercury.

I am currently being poisoned by mercury fillings. I have had headaches, eye pain, light sensitivity, cysts and gastrointestinal problems from them. My mouth also has a burning feeling in it all the time and I develope sores on my tongue also. I also have excess saliva from them. I am too poor to have my teeth done to remove the fillings. It upsets me that the Dental industry gets away with putting this poison in my mouth and I can do nothing about it. The headaches I experience are excrutiating at times. I even went through sinus surgery to remove a cyst and straighten my septum cuz the ENT doctor was mistaken that my sinus cyst was causing my headaches. I am so upset about this. At times I think about suicide cuz of all the pain I am in with my headaches, eye pain and light sensitivity. My stomach always feels like it’s burning also. I contacted the dentist that put them in years ago and he dismissed me and told me that the fillings would cause my issues. I am so mad about them getting away with this.

I recently received Mercury fillings, even after instructing my dentist not to put heavy metals in my mouth. The dentist did it anyway, and only afterwords did it slip out that she had used mercury fillings anyway, contrary to my express instructions.

My mouth is constantly burning, and I feel lethargic and unwell. Most particularly, I am constantly spitting as I have continual excess saliva generated in my mouth. I can only assume that the dentist disregarded my instructions because I am poor. I don’t know what to do…
